SWGDVI Board Meeting Dates and Locations
The SWGDVI Board will hold meetings annually. All members of the DVI community are invited and encouraged to attend. SWGDVI utilizes the GoToMeeting system to web-conference meetings for those unable to physically attend. While there is no fee or formal registration process, those wishing to attend or participate via the web-conference interface should contact the SWGDVI for additional specific information. Please note that SWGDVI does not fund travel to Board meetings.
April 16-18, 2013; Washington, D.C.
The primary focus of the SWGDVI Board meeting was to complete development of the SWGDVI style guide that will be used to ensure consistent formatting between the various guideline and best practice documents that are currently in draft format. The SWGDVI Board also focused discussion on the products of the SWGDVI Data Management committee. The Board reviewed the draft document in its entirety and provided the committee with specific guidance to improve the product so that it can be released for public comment on the SWGDVI website. The Board also reviewed draft guidelines written by the Pathology and DVI management committees. There were also several guest presentations:
1. An overview of the International Committee of the Red Cross and mass fatality management initiatives.
2. Recent developments with the DHHS DMORT program.
3. Recent developments in ANSI/NIST‐ITL forensic data management initiatives.
4. A review of the I‐75 multi‐vehicle accident medicolegal response.
5. An overview of the New York City Office of Chief Medical Officer response to Hurricane Sandy.

The SWGDVI held its inaugural meeting in Washington, DC from 24-26 August 2010. The meeting focused on a discussion of the SWGDVI bylaws, selection of officers, and the general composition of the Board. Finally, and perhaps of greatest importance, participants discussed committee topic areas and designating SWGDVI Board members to serve as Presiding Officers for committees.
The SWGDVI held its inaugural meeting in Washington, DC from 24-26 August 2010.
